New Canaan Funding Closes Investment in Decera

July 21, 2026 – New Canaan Funding Mezzanine VIII SBIC, LP (“NCF VIII SBIC”) provided financing to support an add-on acquisition by Decera Clinical, formerly Clinical Education Alliance (“Decera” and the “Company”), which is owned by The Riverside Company (“Riverside”).  NCF provided debt as part of this acquisition.

Decera, headquartered in Reston, Virginia, is a global leader in medical education, healthcare professional insights and medical communications, primarily serving the life sciences/pharmaceutical industry. Decera Clinical Education provides CME/CE programs for physicians, nurses, pharmacists and other healthcare professionals. Decera Clinical Insights conducts research and gathers perspectives from healthcare professionals to help pharmaceutical and life science companies understand clinical decision-making and treatment adoption. Decera Clinical Communications develops medical/scientific communications, publications, educational materials and related strategies for life-sciences companies.

New Canaan Funding (“NCF”), with offices in Naples, Florida; Southlake, TX; New Canaan, Connecticut and Wheaton, Illinois, is a mezzanine firm focused on the middle market private sponsor community.  Since its beginnings in 1995, NCF has targeted acquisitions, recapitalizations and growth financings in conjunction with its private equity clients.  NCF is currently investing out of its eighth fund.  The investment in CEA represents NCF VIII SBIC’s first investment in the fund.  This financing represents the first investment with Riverside in NCF VIII SBIC and twentieth investment with Riverside in prior NCF investment vehicles.
